Science knowledge is being implemented in our daily live almost without being noticed. In  statistical science, moreover in spatial statistics, one of its applications is event prediction vase on previously registered data. This wasn’t possible or almost possible time ago, but has become a possibility with the BIG DATA.

Eurocp’s Chair is improving this kind of spatial analysis to be useful for crime prediction. The novelty is an statistics approximation base on data registered by the police  enriched with social data, population data and spatial variables . There are other initiatives or a different point of view to approach crime analysis  such us:

• Key Crime, mathematical software taking account of criminals behaviour.
• ComStat, is a management process within a performance management framework that synthesizes analysis of crime and disorder data, strategic problem solving, and a clear accountability structure.
• BlueCrash, criminal Reduction Utilizing Statistical History.
